Project Brief - Upgrade existing extension walls to protect from damp, install new kitchen, re-model ground and first floors to install a downstairs toilet and create a utility area in the first floor bathroom.
Location - Topsham
Completion Date - December 2022
About this project - We promised to complete this project for Christmas and handed over to our client a few days beforehand which was lovely.ย There were a few elements to the works and we started with upgrading the existing extension to double skin wall to better insulate the house and prevent cold and damp.ย We extended the hallway slightly into the dining area which allowed us to install a ground floor toilet with wash basin, the pocket door was a particular feature of this new room ensuring functionality despite minimal available space.
The highlight was installing the new shaker style solid wood kitchen units with integrated appliances including the lovely Neff Hide โnโ Slide oven.ย The ground floor was replastered and decorated throughout with new French doors replacing the original window and allowing our client to enjoy the garden and patio areas even more.
Upstairs in the bathroom the bath was removed and new cabinets constructed to house the re-located boiler, washing machine and tumble dryer.ย Itโs unusual in the UK to have the utility space on the first floor but makes so much sense, especially in Winter as laundry usually starts and finishes in the bedrooms.
A new tower radiator and wood effect LVT floor throughout the ground floor were the finishing touches to create an inspiring, functional space for our client.
